Rangers, Giants Up 2-1 Go Up 2-1 In League Championship Series

In a sign that the stars and planets are indeed not spiraling out of control and shifting the natural order of the world, the Texas Rangers pummeled the evil empire New York Stankees 8-0 in the third game of the American League Championship Series.

Meanwhile, the San Francisco Giants downed the defending World Champion Phillies 2-1 in the third game of the NLCS.

Rangers’ hurler Cliff Lee pitched eight innings of shut-out baseball enroute to the victory. Josh Hamilton gave the Rangers a 2-0 lead early off over-rated Andy Petitte and the Rangers never looked back.

Lee dominated the Yankees striking out 13.

The Rangers still play two games at Yankee Stadium. But the Rangers know how to win on the road outscoring their opponents 24-2 in the postseason. but they have won four straight games on the road this postseason, outscoring the opposition, 24-2.

Back in San Francisco, Giants starter Matt Cain dominated and baffled the hapless Phillies in a 3-0 win to go ahead of the Philles 2 games to 1.

Cody Ross reached for a low and outside pitch inches off the ground that scored Edgar Renteria who replaced the ailing Juan Uribe. That turned out to be the winning run but the Giants went on to score 2 more.

  1. Extremely hard to fathom that the NY Yankess aren’t travelling to the World Series. Since I’m a sox fan, if they aren’t going, anyone else is an improvement over the Yankees.

  2. Its October Rangers, time to bring a big championship home to Texas.

  3. So wish I could be there in San Francisco to see my team :-) GO Rangers!

  4. It’s allright, Texas Rangers can still kick their butts. It’s just game 1. Rangers rock!
